Supporting Public Waldorf Education

The Charter Foundation is the fundraising organization for Sebastopol Charter School, a Public Waldorf charter school in Sebastopol, California. Established by the school’s founders in 1996, the Foundation is charged with the mission of establishing and supporting a permanent, Public Waldorf charter school. Since that time the Charter Foundation has provided facilities for the School, bolstered teacher salaries and student programming, while also saving for the acquisition and construction of our unified school site.

The primary fundraising vehicle of the Foundation is the parent Pledge Program. The Foundation also manages varying other fundraising events throughout the year.

The Charter Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Federal Tax ID # 94-3314538.See you all there!

All About Our Pledge Program

In a record-breaking demonstration of support, Susan Sterns’ 8th grade class is the first to hit the benchmark of 100% pledge participation! In JANUARY!

The Charter Foundation is so happy to celebrate the implications of this, as it expresses the spirit of common educational purpose that will outlive these families attendance at Sebastopol Charter School. This spirit of giving, put quite simply, is the PRIMARY reason SCS continues to thrive. These families are paying it forward, just as the founding families (and the many families thereafter) have continued to do, resourcing what we are able to offer today and what we hope to offer to our future public school students in this special place.

We are also so pleased to highlight that under our new Pledge Incentive Program, the Charter Foundation will be granting 8th grade $500 to be used however the teacher determines is most appropriate for her students’ positive experiences here together.

We are so happy to provide this opportunity for the agency of one of our esteemed faculty members, thanks to her class families’ giving practices. Thank you, 8th grade families, for being such a shining example!
