Board of Directors

The Foundation’s Board of Directors is drawn from parents in the school community as well as alumni and other community supporters. Our current board consists of:

Todd LaMothe, President

Todd comes to the Foundation after nearly 20 years in service management at BMW of Marin, overseeing 100 employees and resolving many of of the most challenging customer issues, invariably to the customer’s satisfaction. He brings this commitment to service to his role on the Foundation Board, where his passion has been expressed in successful fundraising and community building efforts. Long gone are the days when he traveled the country as a professional race car driver at the Skip Barber Racing school, Todd is now a proud father of two children at Sebastopol Charter.

Anthony More, Vice President

Anthony is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Vir2us, Inc., an Internet security firm based in Petaluma. Prior to Vir2us, he was an information technology manager for an academic institution, and managed a team of IT professionals that pioneered one of the first laptop computer programs for elementary grade levels and deployed the first wireless network in a California school. Having attended Waldorf schools through high school, Anthony thereafter graduated from Colby College. He has two children attending Sebastopol Charter.

Amy Hui Johnson, Treasurer

Amy is an accountant specializing in corporate tax for over 10 years; she has also worked with small business tax during her career. Amy was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Texas. Since 2000, she has been involved with an employee organization which promotes ethnic diversity and networking in her field; she has held several officer positions within this organization and currently serves as National Treasurer. Amy received her undergraduate degree in accounting from Texas State University.

Amy, her husband Blake, and their two daughters moved to Sebastopol from Boulder, Colorado in 2014.  Their daughters are currently in the lower grades and have been in Waldorf education since pre-school.

Bob Haroche, Vice President and Secretary

Bob is a shareholder in Beyers Costin Simon, where he practices real estate, land use, administrative and general commercial law. His work involves representing individuals, businesses and non-profits in both commercial transactions and litigation at the trial and appellate levels. Prior to joining the Charter Foundation in 2008, Bob served as President of the Sonoma County Animal Shelter Volunteers organization. In years past, he also owned and managed OnPoint Solutions, a web development and design company. Originally from New York, Bob attended the Wharton School of Business and New York University School of Law. He has lived in Sonoma County since 1992, and has two sons, one of whom graduated from Sebastopol Charter in 2015 and the other in 2017.

Christina Woodworth-Powell, Vice President

Christina has two decades of experience working and volunteering in non-profit and public organizations. She has held many positions from case manager, volunteer coordinator to human resources director. She took two years off from work after the birth of her daughter and currently is the events manager at a local catering company. Christina received an undergraduate degree in Community Studies from University of California, Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in Humanities and Leadership from New College of California, San Francisco. Christina’s master’s thesis was titled Ecoleadership: An exploration of nature and leadership. She examined four leaders who included nature in their leadership philosophy. Rudolf Steiner was one of the four. Christina’s thesis was inspired by being a Waldorf student and years working as a whitewater river rafting guide. Christina is a Sebastopol native who was in the second graduating 8th grade class of Summerfield Waldorf School. She has one daughter attending Sebastopol Charter, who will enter first grade in 2016.

Laura Gilbert, Member at Large

Laura Gilbert has over 15 years of experience working for nonprofits both nationally and throughout Sonoma County, with responsibilities including fund development, events, grant writing, marketing, volunteer management and administration. She is currently working independently as a nonprofit consultant, and manages the family’s growing construction company. Laura graduated from University of California, Davis with a Bachelor’s degree in English, and has a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Administration from Sonoma State University. Laura has a close connection with nature and simplicity, and is most happy either hiking in the mountains or scuba diving in a deep blue (and warm!) sea. Laura has lived in Sebastopol for just over 11 years, and she and her husband Brian try to spend much of their days with their two girls camping and backpacking throughout California.

Laura co-chaired the Charter Foundation’s Community Auction in 2017, and will continue in her leadership role in 2018, with the goal of bringing added efficiencies and sustainability.
